Volunteering is a great way to get involved in your local community and assist the more vulnerable members of your local community.
BayCISS is a volunteer organisation with only a small number of employees and we could not operate without our volunteers. There are a number of volunteer roles and we would love to get you involved!
Most of our volunteers are trained as Community Information Workers. They undergo an accredited 50 hour program and then are supported by a mentor as they learn more about the role. Training is run by Community Information and Support Victoria (CISvic) and is run 8 times per year either online or via a hybrid model including a combination of face to face and online training.
There are also roles for volunteers who do not want to undergo training and/or be involved in direct service delivery. These roles include assistance with administrative functions, social media, fund raising, collection of food from Foodbank Victoria or other donations as well as roles on the Committee of Management. All of these roles are essential to our operation and we welcome your involvement.
All volunteers are required to undergo a police check and follow Occupational Health and Safety guidelines within the organisation.
If you have particular skills you could bring to our organisation or want to find out more about what we do, contact Rose Paduano, Executive Officer on 9555 9910 or fill in the enquiry form.
