Give a little. Change a lot!

The theme for our National Volunteer Week celebrations this year is “Give a Little. Change a Lot”

We witness the amazing work of people within our own communities each and every day by committing their time, their skills, their knowledge, their expertise, their physical labour and their experiences to assist others in all different ways.  Our work at BayCISS allows us the ability to assist others in many different ways, through volunteer commitment of many different people, with many different life experiences and many different reasons to be there for others.

Food For Change is another like-minded charity operating out of Clayton, manned by an army of green-thumbed volunteers, to assist organisations like ours to encourage positive change.  Through our partnership with this amazing organisation, we are now able to provide fresh produce harvested each week as required!  The benefits of this service are felt by everyone involved.

Service users benefit from the availability of fresh vegetables – tick!

Volunteers are able to provide fresh, nutritious and healthy choices to users – tick!

Work satisfaction and value of service increases with choices and more adequate service provision – tick!

Working together helps to alleviate food insecurity within our very own community – tick!

What a fabulous little operation they have and we are very grateful to be invited to be a lucky recipient of their produce.  To find out more about this local venture, or to assist with volunteering or donating, follow the link.  You’ll be very glad you did!
